EnerSys, a global leader in stored energy solutions, is seeking a Payroll Systems Analyst (UKG Pro WFM) to configure, administer and continuously improve Workforce Management and payroll systems. You will partner with Payroll, HR, Operations and IT to ensure data integrity, payroll accuracy and compliant labor practices.

The role focuses on UKG Pro WFM modules, system enhancements, integrations and reporting, with on-site/ hybrid expectations at EnerSys HQ in Reading, PA.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years hands-on UKG Pro WFM (Dimensions) system administration experience.
  • Proven experience configuring and maintaining WFM settings (Pay Rules, Labor Categories, Business Structures).
  • Experience supporting system releases, testing, integrations and vendor partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of payroll operations, labor compliance, data controls and audit processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary system administrator for UKG Pro WFM and Time & Attendance applications.
  • Coordinate system updates, releases, testing cycles and feature rollouts.
  • Own end-to-end configuration for payroll and timekeeping systems including pay codes, schedules and accruals.
  • Maintain data integrity and develop payroll/WFM reports, dashboards, and analytics.
  • Support integrations with HR, finance, IT and external vendors; ensure SOX controls and audit readiness.

Job Purpose

The Payroll Systems Analyst (UKG Pro WFM) is responsible for the configuration, administration, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of the organization's Workforce Management and payroll-related systems, with primary responsibility for UKG Pro Workforce Management (WFM), including Timekeeping, Advanced Scheduling, and Attendance. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert for workforce management systems and partners closely with Payroll, HR, Operations, IT, and external vendors to ensure system reliability, payroll integration accuracy, labor compliance, data integrity, and operational efficiency.

The Payroll Systems Analyst leads system enhancements, supports integrations and reporting, manages system releases and testing, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to ensure workforce management and payroll systems effectively support business objectives and employee needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Payroll & Workforce Management System Administration

  • Serve as the primary system administrator for the organization’s Payroll and Time & Attendance applications, maintaining expert-level knowledge across all modules.
  • Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for UKG Pro WFM Advanced Scheduling and Timekeeping modules.
  • Configure and maintain system workflows, business rules, pay rules, accruals, labor rules, schedule patterns, shift templates, security roles, and organizational structures to align with organizational policies and compliance requirements.
  • Manage user access, access control points, personas, organizational sets, and related security configurations.
  • Partner with system vendors, internal technology teams, and the Managed Service Provider to manage system configuration, issue resolution, and ongoing support.
  • Coordinate system updates, releases, testing cycles, and feature rollouts, ensuring changes are thoroughly validated prior to deployment.

Payroll & Time and Attendance Configuration

  • Own end-to-end configuration for Payroll and Time & Attendance systems, including pay codes, schedules, holidays, premiums, and accrual programs.
  • Design, optimize, and maintain complex pay rules, schedule patterns, shift templates, and accrual policies.
  • Provide expert consultation and guidance on Payroll and WFM system functionality to Payroll, HR Finance, IT, operational leaders, and scheduling teams.

Integrations & System Monitoring

  • Maintain, monitor, and support integrations between payroll systems and internal or external applications (e.g., HR systems, benefits providers, finance, and third-party vendors).
  • Troubleshoot integration, interface, and data flow issues using system monitoring and transaction management tools to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Identify root causes and coordinate resolution efforts with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure interfaces operate securely, accurately, and in compliance with internal controls and audit standards.

Data Integrity & Reporting

  • Maintain data accuracy and system integrity through routine audits, reconciliations, and validation processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze standard and custom payroll and workforce management reports, dashboards, and labor analytics.
  • Partner with operational leaders, Payroll, HR Finance, and leadership teams to deliver workforce insights that support informed business decisions.

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Routinely review system releases, product enhancements, and new functionality from payroll and WFM vendors.
  • Assess organizational impact and provide recommendations for system improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Lead the design, configuration, testing, and implementation of approved enhancements and changes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline payroll and workforce processes and enhance user experience.
  • Document system configurations, business processes, and maintain up-to-date SOPs and technical documentation.
User Support & Training
  • Provide support for payroll and workforce systems, including issue investigation and resolution.
  • Develop and deliver system training, job aids, and knowledge resources for HR, Payroll, managers, and end users.
  • Serve as the escalation point and trusted advisor for complex system-related inquiries and support issues.

Project Management

  • Lead or support payroll and WFM system projects, including new vendor implementations, integrations, upgrades, and process redesign initiatives.
  • Partner with project stakeholders to manage timelines, testing, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.

SOX Controls & Audit Compliance

  • Support and maintain SOX compliant payroll and workforce management system controls, including access controls, segregation of duties, configuration governance, and change management processes.
  • Partner with Internal Audit, Compliance, Payroll, HR, and IT to ensure payroll system controls are properly designed, documented, and operating effectively.
  • Participate in SOX audits, internal audits and external audits by providing system documentation, access reviews, evidence of controls, test results and remediation plans as needed.
  • Monitor and enforce user security, role based access, and approval workflows to ensure compliance with SOX and internal control requirements.
  • Ensure all system changes, configurations and enhancements follow established change management and approval protocols with appropriate testing, validation and documentation.
  • Proactively identify control gaps or audit risks and recommend corrective actions to strengthen system and process controls.
  • Maintain audit ready documentation, including SOPs, control narratives, risk assessments, and system process flows related to payroll and workforce management applications.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on UKG Pro WFM (Dimensions) system administration experience.
  • Proven experience configuring and maintaining WFM settings, including Pay Rules, Labor Categories, Business Structures and related system functionality.
  • Experience supporting system releases, testing, integrations and vendor partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of payroll operations, labor compliance requirements, data controls and audit processes.
  • Experience working with managed service providers (MSPs) or outsourced payroll environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements, company policies and labor laws into automated system solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with large scale or global payroll environments.
  • Vendor agnostic payroll system experience (e.g., enterprise HRIS, payroll or WFM platforms).
  • Project or change management experience supporting system implementations or enhancements.
