Job summary

Southern Company is seeking a Systems Support Analyst to back centralized payroll functions across the organization, including load of internal and external files, data reconciliation, and reporting. The role supports payroll system jobs across multiple cycles and partners with Technology to resolve issues.

You will contribute to system upgrades, regression testing, and ensure compliance with labor laws. Strong analytical, cross-functional collaboration, and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting, Business, Information Systems or related field
• 3-5 years work experience in payroll, technology, Oracle HCM, Payroll, Time and Labor strongly desired
• Minimum 2-3 years Peoplesoft/Oracle HCM strongly desired
• Understanding of Cloud computing strongly desired
• Experience with applying Labor laws, including the Fair Labor Standards Act desired
• Experience analyzing complex scenarios and balancing multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Payroll, HR Service Center and other orgs to meet deadlines
• Support production process for accurate payroll and team reports
• Operate in compliance with federal, state and company guidelines
• Participate in job rotation/rotating roles as part of a team
• Provide full process and system support
• Communicate effectively to maintain a team environment
• Perform other payroll related duties as assigned
