Official Position Title: Payroll Support
Full-Time, 8-5 M-F | Home Office Position | Hourly

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Support professional to join our team and help support payroll operations across our senior living communities.

This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working with numbers, catching the small details, solving problems, and helping ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. You will work closely with community leaders and our Payroll and Benefits Manager while supporting payroll processing across multiple locations and states.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing: Process, review, and balance semi-monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy across hours worked, earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and other payroll-related items.

  • Multi-State Payroll Support: Assist with the day-to-day upkeep and processing of approximately ten payrolls across multiple states.

  • Employee Updates: Ensure payroll changes such as new hires, terminations, and pay rate updates are processed accurately and timely.

  • Payroll Reconciliation: Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, data entry errors, system issues, uncashed checks, accounting entries, and year-to-date adjustments.

  • Auditing & Accuracy: Conduct routine payroll audits to help maintain accurate employee and payroll information.

  • Community Support: Provide guidance and support to community leadership and Business Office Managers regarding payroll processes, submissions, and questions.

  • Training & Process Support: Assist with updating payroll procedures, training guides, and ongoing training for community teams as processes and systems change.

  • Reporting & Tax Support: Assist with payroll reports, reconcile tax files, and research payroll tax notices or discrepancies as needed.

  • Process Improvement: Work with leadership to identify ways to improve payroll systems, processes, and overall efficiency.

  • Compliance: Help ensure payroll practices remain consistent with applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour requirements.

What We Are Looking For
  • At least 2 years of experience in payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a related field.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to research and resolve issues.

  • Comfortable working with computer systems, spreadsheets, and word-processing programs.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills when working with employees and community leaders.

  • Ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information professionally.

  • Ability and willingness to learn new systems and processes quickly.

Why This Role Matters

Payroll impacts every employee in the organization. In this position, you will help make sure payroll information is accurate, issues are resolved quickly, and our community teams have the support they need to keep payroll running smoothly.

If you are dependable, detail-oriented, enjoy problem-solving, and take pride in getting things right, we would love to hear from you.
