Job summary

Esri is seeking an experienced payroll leader to oversee multi-state US payroll operations onsite at our Redlands, CA campus. You will drive compliance, optimize processes, and mentor a team of payroll professionals, coordinating with HR and timekeeping systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in payroll, strong HCM system experience (e.g., Ceridian Dayforce), advanced Excel skills, and proven leadership ability. Visa sponsorship is not available. This role offers a robust total rewards package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll experience across federal, state, and local taxes.
• Experience with a major HCM system.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or HR.
• Ability to supervise and conduct performance reviews.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of payroll impact on accounting transactions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day processing of multi-state US payroll, including compliance with federal/state laws and regulations and company policies
• Coordinate with payroll vendor to ensure timeliness and accuracy of all tax filings and amendments
• Supervise payroll staff and reviews, distribute workloads, ensure quality control and conduct performance reviews
• Support payroll system upgrade testing
• Assist integration of payroll with HR and timekeeping systems
• Recommend process changes to improve efficiency
• Act as back-up to Payroll Manager and staff
