Job summary

CFS is seeking a Payroll Lead to own and optimize our multi-state payroll operations. You will ensure accurate, on-time pay, while collaborating with HR, Benefits, Finance, and Operations to maintain data integrity and controls.

The role offers hybrid work with one remote day per week, and a strong focus on process improvements and compliance across locations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience, multi-state focus.
• Experience leading a small payroll team.
• Degree in Accounting, Business Admin, HR, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review timekeeping, wages, bonuses, deductions, and changes for accuracy before final payroll.
• Oversee a small team of payroll specialists.
• Partner with HR, Benefits, Finance, and Operations to resolve issues and provide reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Review timekeeping, wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, benefits, garnishments, and employee changes while resolving discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
• Oversee a small team of payroll specialists.
• Partner with HR, Benefits, Finance, and Operations to resolve payroll issues, maintain accurate employee data, and provide payroll reporting and support.
• Identify and implement process improvements, strengthen payroll controls, support system updates, and help ensure payroll procedures remain efficient and compliant.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience, preferably supporting a multi-state workforce.
• Experience leading a team.
