Job summary

Dentons US LLP in Chicago seeks a Payroll Coordinator to support all Firm personnel. You will process payroll across multiple cycles and maintain accurate employee records. The role requires 1-3 years payroll experience, proficiency with UKG Pro and Excel, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of payroll experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services.
• Proficiency with UKG Pro and Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
• Strong communication, organization and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly cycles for US employees.
• Validate employee change requests (new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, LOA).
• Process voids, manual checks, wage attachments, tax adjustments, and garnishments.
• Maintain HRIS records and ensure accurate changes to employee profiles.
• Manage payroll records including tax withholdings, 401(k), and direct deposit data.
• Coordinate with UKG Pro on payroll issues.
• Serve as primary payroll contact for employee inquiries.
• Process year-end tasks and distribute W-2s.
• Monitor and enforce department and firm policies.
• Maintain confidentiality per regulations and firm guidelines.
• Stay updated on payroll software and process improvements.
• Assist with ad-hoc HR and payroll projects.
• Other duties as assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.
