Job summary

Bavarian Nordic is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join the North America Finance team in the Greater Raleigh/Durham area. You will manage US and Canadian payroll within Dynamics D365, ensure compliance with payroll laws, and support essential accounting entries and reconciliations.

The role requires 3+ years of payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate across functions and countries. Proximity to Durham, NC is preferred with some travel for team meetings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll experience, including automated payroll processing.
• Working knowledge of payroll accounting, financial system postings, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and strong Excel skills for payroll analysis.
• Experience with TriNet, Empower 401(k), and Microsoft Dynamics D365 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process timely, accurate payroll for hourly and salaried employees under general supervision.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian payroll laws and reporting requirements.
• Prepare payroll reports and support audits of payroll records and GL accounts.
• Lead the annual 401(k) audit with the Director of North American Finance.
• Review payroll entries, including changes, deductions, leaves, and terminations.
• Assist employees with payroll questions, deductions, and PTO accruals.
• Manage payroll accounting in Dynamics D365 and reconcile accounts monthly/quarterly/annually.
• Review T&E expenses for documentation and policy compliance; process reimbursements.
• Identify improvements to payroll administration and processes.
