ProSearch is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a temporary/ temp-to-hire role. The position offers a hybrid setup with weekly payroll for 250+ employees and a schedule of about 20–25 hours per week, Monday–Thursday. Remote work is supported, with preference for candidates in Maine, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts.

The role is 6–12 weeks initially, with potential for permanent placement for the right candidate, and pay ranges from $30–$40 per hour depending on experience.

Payroll Specialist – Temporary / Temp-to-Hire

Hybrid | $30–$40/hour | Part-Time, 25 hours/week

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support weekly payroll processing for 250+ employees. This is an initial 6–12 week temporary assignment with the potential to become temp-to-hire for the right candidate.

What You’ll Do

• Process weekly payroll for 200+ employees
• Review payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
• Help clean up and verify payroll information following a recent system transition
• Work closely with HR to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
• Troubleshoot payroll issues and navigate a somewhat complex payroll process

What We’re Looking For

• Paylocity, ADP or Paycom experience is required
• Prior hands-on payroll processing experience
• Multi-state payroll experience preferred, but not required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and correct payroll discrepancies
• Knowledge or exposure to benefits administration preferred, but not required
• Comfortable stepping into an existing process and helping improve accuracy and organization
• Ability to work independently and meet weekly payroll deadlines

Schedule & Location

• Approximately 20-25 hours per week, Monday–Thursday
• Position is remote and preference will be given to candidates in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts

Pay: $30–$40/hour, depending on experience
