Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing organization to identify a Payroll Specialist who will support payroll operations and related administrative functions in Cincinnati. This temp-to-hire role demands accuracy, confidentiality, and clear communication with employees about payroll matters.

You will process recurring payroll cycles, audit timekeeping, maintain payroll data, and assist with year-end tasks and regulatory reporting. Proficiency in Excel and Paycor is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience processing payroll in a professional business environment.
• Strong organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees and management at all levels.
• Experience with payroll software; Paycor preferred.
• Exposure to a high-volume payroll environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process recurring payroll cycles accurately and timely.
• Audit timekeeping records and payroll-related adjustments.
• Maintain payroll data and safeguard confidential information.
• Coordinate payroll-related HR updates (onboarding, separations, compensation changes, benefit elections).
• Research and resolve payroll questions and discrepancies submitted by employees.
• Support payroll tax activities and assist with year-end payroll functions.
• Review payroll registers and supporting reports for accuracy and assist with reconciliations.
• Provide support for monthly accounting processes and other finance-related duties.
• Stay current with wage and hour regulations and ensure payroll procedures comply with policies and law.
• Assist with various administrative and accounting projects to support departmental goals.
