Job summary

Rock Valley College is seeking a Payroll Assistant to perform payroll processing and reporting in alignment with college policies and regulations. The role acts as a payroll expert, ensuring accuracy and timely completion while supporting audits and the implementation of new payroll regulations.

Reporting to the Payroll Team Lead, you will coordinate with IT and HR on system modules and ensure adherence to policies, contracts, and laws.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting, business administration, or related field required; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience using technology to streamline workflows and resolve challenges.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll from initiation to reconciliation and reporting.
• Generate payroll reports including annuities, direct deposits, and wage deductions orders.
• Monitor and reconcile leave accruals and deductions.
• Maintain confidentiality of all pay related data.
• Assist with quarterly 941 returns and issuing W-2s.
