Merrill Steel is seeking a Payroll Clerk to process and validate weekly payroll, ensuring accurate data across human resources systems. The role collaborates with HR to resolve discrepancies and administer wage garnishments and deductions. You will research multi-state payroll issues, reconcile payroll GL accounts, and address employee questions.

The position is office-based and requires payroll experience and mid-level Excel knowledge to ensure timely, accurate payroll delivery.

Qualifications

• Payroll experience required.
• Proficient in Excel and data entry.

Responsabilités

• Process and validate weekly payroll.
• Partner with Human Resources to maintain accurate employee payroll data and resolve data discrepancies.
• Administer wage garnishments and other deductions.
• Research routine multi-state payroll issues and tax notices; coordinate resolution.
• Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and investigate variances.
• Review PTO balances and resolve discrepancies.
• Answer employee questions regarding paychecks, deductions, taxes, PTO, and discrepancies.
• Perform other payroll responsibilities as assigned by Payroll Manager.
