Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a payroll professional to verify timekeeping records, record payroll data in our system, verify all amounts before issuing checks, and initiate direct deposits.

You will change employee banking records when necessary, adjust tax status and withholding, record employee inquiries about payroll services and relay them to HR, and maintain compliant policies and procedures for processing payroll checks.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication with good organizational skills.
• Customer service oriented toward internal employees.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with payroll, HRIS, compensation, legal, and People Team.
• Precise attention to detail.
• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with changing plans or conditions.
• Proficient in Excel (intermediate or higher).

Responsibilities

• Verify timekeeping records and consult employees about discrepancies.
• Record payroll data in our software system and verify all amounts prior to cutting checks.
• Alter employee tax status and withholding information as needed.
• Initiate direct deposits.
• Change employee banking records when necessary to process payments.
• Record employee complaints, questions and concerns about payroll services and communicate those issues to HR manager.
• Maintain compliant policies and procedures for processing payroll checks.
