Job summary

Volunteers of America Colorado is seeking a Payroll Administrator to manage payroll processing, ensure accuracy and compliance, and handle sensitive employee data. The role includes timecard verification, data transfers to payroll systems, and assisting with benefits deductions and tax reporting.

This full-time, hybrid position located in Denver, CO offers a salary range of $60,000–$70,000 with standard benefits and opportunities for process improvement within a nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum Associate degree in business admin, accounting, or HR.
• Three years’ experience in full cycle payroll for non-exempt and exempt staff.
• Understanding of Colorado payroll laws.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and payroll data systems.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll for all employees.
• Maintain and update employee records including changes in pay/benefits.
• Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
• Respond to payroll inquiries from employees and managers.
• Update HRIS workflows and coordinate with Accounting/IT/People & Culture.
