Job summary

Associated Grocers in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our Retail Services Accounting team. You will process payroll for RSA clients, maintain records, and handle deductions, while ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.

The role requires four to six years of full-service payroll experience in a multi-company environment, knowledge of FFCRA/CARES, and proficiency with Netchex and MS Excel.

Qualifications

• Four to six years of full-service payroll experience in a multi-company environment.
• Experience with Netchex payroll system preferred.
• Knowledge of FFCRA/CARES payroll legislation.
• Strong training and customer service skills.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Review weekly RSA clients’ payroll time sheets, wage computations, withholdings and deductions to detect discrepancies.
• Process, balance and close RSA client payrolls and issue payroll reports.
• Assist with verification of SUTA rates and payroll audits.
• Add new hires to payroll systems and maintain records.
• Issue adjustments for retroactive increases or prior errors.
• Manage employee deductions and payroll bank transfers.
• Reconcile bank drafts with payroll provider outputs monthly.
• Verify ACH returns and process refunds to RSA clients.
• Provide customer service to RSA clients and train on payroll matters.
• Supply information to employees on payroll matters, benefits, and agreements.
