Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Payroll Specialist III for a remote-friendly hybrid role based in Arlington, TX. You will handle complex payroll inquiries, process paychecks and direct deposits, and ensure correct tax treatments and deductions.

This position supports regular reporting and close processes while collaborating with accounting teams. Requires 5 years of payroll experience, HS diploma, and preferably a BA/BS in Accounting or Finance.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
• 5 years of payroll experience required.
• Experience with PeopleSoft Payroll preferred; Oracle Payroll systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers complex payroll inquiries and tracks issue resolution for payroll including paychecks and direct deposits, deductions, and executive payroll.
• Researches and resolves complex payroll issues.
• Manages state and local tax issues including out-of-state workers and jurisdictional requirements.
• Prepares payroll-related weekly/monthly/year-end reporting and related information.
• Works with General Accounting to ensure payroll entries and sub-ledgers are accurately reflected in the General Ledger.
• Performs special projects as assigned by leadership.

Work Hours:

Full Time Days (8:00am-5:00pm) for 40 hrs/week (Hybrid work allowed at manager's discretion)

What You Will Do

• Answers complex customer inquiries and tracks issue resolution for payroll involving paychecks and direct deposit issues, employee payroll deductions, processing executive payroll, federal/state and local tax related issues, etc. 25%
• Researches and resolves complex payroll issues 25%
• Manage State and local tax issues including keeping track of out of state workers and jurisdictional requirements 20%
• Prepares payroll related weekly/monthly/year-end required reporting and other necessary payroll related information 15%
• Works with the General Accounting Department to verify that payroll entries and sub-ledgers are accurately reflected on the General Ledger 10%
• Special projects as assigned by leadership 5%

What You Need

Education

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Req
• Bachelor's Degree BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field Pref

Experience

• 5 Years Payroll experience Req
• Experience with PeopleSoft (PS) Payroll desired but Oracle Payroll systems preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes and General Ledger impacts, and experience with payroll implementations, integrations, or process improvements preferred.
