Job summary

SMS Holdings Corporation is seeking a payroll professional to prepare, analyze, and process payroll in compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines. The role involves compiling data, updating timekeeping systems, and generating payroll reports to ensure accurate compensation and deductions.

Ideal candidates will have experience with ADP, Kronos, and related timekeeping systems, plus strong analytical and confidentiality skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Compile payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance, and union dues to be withheld.
• Compute pay and deductions for adjustments and manual checks.
• Perform required government reporting such as BLS, Multi-worksite and other items.
• Update timekeeping systems for historical changes/corrections and calculate retro pay.
• Prepare and validate vacation/sick/ PTO balances.
• Record data concerning transfer of employees between departments, paygroups and companies for correct tax reflection.
• Prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
• Keep records of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
• Prepare and issue paychecks.
• Create and use reporting features of payroll system.
