• Maintain documentation and adhere to controls and procedures.

** Payroll Specialist (Hybrid) – Workday/UKG Payroll**
** Location:** Grand Rapids, MI (Hybrid — onsite every Wednesday & Thursday)
** Schedule:** Full-time, Monday–Friday (onsite Wed/Thu)
** Pay:** $30-$35/hr

** Summary**

We’re hiring a Payroll Specialist to support high-volume payroll operations in a hybrid environment. This Payroll Specialist role focuses on accurate payroll processing, reconciliations, deductions/garnishments, payroll tax support, and issue resolution. If you have 5+ years of payroll experience and hands‑on knowledge with Workday payroll and/or UKG , this is a strong next step. You’ll work closely with Accounting/Treasury and use strong Excel skills to ensure timely, compliant payroll cycles.

** Responsibilities**

• Process and reconcile payroll cycles (on‑cycle and off‑cycle), including earnings, deductions, and payroll corrections
• Research, validate, and resolve payroll discrepancies, exceptions, and complex employee payroll inquiries
• Process and manage employee deductions/deferrals, garnishments/levies, remittances, and related correspondence
• Support accurate general ledger balancing, account distributions, and reconciliations; coordinate with Accounting and Treasury
• Apply and support payroll tax processing and reporting in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Support payroll/timekeeping system activities: testing, documentation, procedure updates, training, and process improvement
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established controls, policies, and required procedures
• Use ticketing/workflow tools (ServiceNow experience is a plus) to track and resolve payroll‑related issues

** Qualifications**

• ** 5+ years** of recent payroll processing experience required
• Experience with Workday payroll and/or UKG required (Workday preferred)
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel (reconciliations, trackers, reporting)
• Experience handling payroll deductions, garnishments, and complex payroll corrections
• Working knowledge of payroll compliance (FLSA and payroll tax fundamentals)
• Strong attention to detail, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills
• Able to work onsite every Wednesday & Thursday in Grand Rapids, MI
• High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred
• ** CPP (Certified Payroll Professional)** preferred
