Sofi is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support our growing U.S. payroll operations. You will process regular and off-cycle payrolls, ensure accurate wage calculations, and collaborate with Finance and HR to maintain compliance and data integrity.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws.
• Experience with Workday or similar HR/payroll systems preferred.
• Proficiency with Gmail and Microsoft Office; intermediate/advanced Excel required.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to resolve employee inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Process regular and off-cycle payrolls for assigned employee populations.
• Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, and retroactive pay.
• Review payroll reports for compliance and accuracy.
• Validate timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies with managers and HR.
• Process manual checks for terminations, bonuses, and lost checks.
• Assist with payroll audits and respond to inquiries from agencies.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations.
• Respond to employee inquiries to maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Document payroll procedures and maintain internal controls.
• Support SOX or internal audits and participate in special projects.
