Mid-City Electric is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our employee-owned team in Westerville, OH. You will support payroll operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and serve as a backup for full-cycle payroll processing across a union workforce.

You’ll work with HR, Compliance, and Finance to maintain accurate data, run reconciliations, and respond to payroll-related inquiries. We offer strong benefits and opportunities for growth in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 2+ years of payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, or related administrative experience.
• Experience with payroll software, HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with payroll operations and audits, including responses to regulatory requests.
• Perform basic accounting duties and monthly general ledger reconciliations for payroll-related accounts.
• Serve as primary full-cycle payroll backup as needed.
• Support regulatory filings and ensure timely data capture for payroll processes.
• Collaborate with HR/Compliance/Finance teams on cross-functional tasks and improvements.
