Job summary

EC Electric is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate processing and recording of payroll for all Bargaining employees. You will also serve as a customer service liaison for internal staff, handling inquiries and document requests with clear communication.

The role includes reconciling payroll, managing garnishments, and interface with time and attendance systems. A strong emphasis on accuracy, organization, and payroll software proficiency is required.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Viewpoint or similar payroll software experience, preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and very organized.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Union payroll experience highly preferred.
  • Construction payroll/office experience highly preferred.
  • Certified payroll experience highly preferred.

Overview

The Payroll Specialist position will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll for all of our Bargaining employees. In addition, this position will act as a customer service agent to internal employees, approaching both management and non-management positions with the highest level of communication to assist with payroll inquiries and document requests.

Responsibilities
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Collaborate closely with payroll specialist team to ensure timely updates.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
  • Execute time and attendance processing and interface with KeyStyle software.
  • Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks.
  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
  • Process manual checks and/or request for stop payment.
  • Load import files received from other departments as it pertains to payroll (All Companies).
  • Research and respond to appropriate persons regarding items in need of correcting.
  • Weekly running, review and disbursement of Certified Payroll.
  • Monthly processing of MER reports and Market Recovery reporting.
  • Monthly processing of OCIP reporting.
  • Weekly processing of Intents and Affidavits for L&I.
  • Weekly processing of employment claims.
  • Weekly processing of New Hire packets.
Qualifications

Benefits

Salary range for this position is $60,000-$65,000 annually.
