Job summary

ARMSTRONG CAL BUILDERS, INC. is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage weekly payroll and payroll-related compliance for our California construction projects, including private and public works.

The ideal candidate has strong ADP experience, handles both union and non-union payroll, prevailing wage, fringe benefits, and DIR requirements, and can step into the role with minimal training.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in construction.
• Direct experience with California construction payroll.
• Experience with both union and non-union payroll.
• Knowledge of prevailing wage, certified payroll, fringe benefits, and public works requirements.
• Strong knowledge of California wage and labor laws and DIR requirements.
• Experience with private and public construction projects.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet weekly payroll deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll accurately and on time using ADP.
• Process payroll for both union and non-union employees.
• Handle payroll for private, public works, civil, and general construction projects.
• Review timecards, overtime, double time, PTO, deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
• Calculate and process union benefits, dues, and fringe benefits.
• Prepare and/or review certified payroll and prevailing wage payroll.
• Maintain compliance with California wage and labor laws and DIR requirements.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and assist with payroll audits and compliance issues.
• Work with Accounting, Project Managers, and Management to resolve payroll discrepancies.

We are a general contractor construction company seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to handle weekly payroll and payroll-related compliance.

The ideal candidate will have strong ADP experience and a solid background in California construction payroll, including both private and public works projects.

Experience with union and non-union payroll is required, including prevailing wage, fringe benefits, employee classifications, overtime, and applicable union requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll accurately and on time using ADP.
• Process payroll for both union and non-union employees.
• Handle payroll for private, public works, civil, and general construction projects.
• Review timecards, overtime, double time, PTO, deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
