Job summary

LHH in Jurupa Valley, CA, is seeking an experienced Certified Payroll Specialist to join our team and manage certified payroll for public works and prevailing wage projects. The role focuses on accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting, interfacing with project managers, accounting, and HR to ensure payroll integrity.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of certified payroll experience, strong knowledge of prevailing wage laws, and proficiency with payroll systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations.
• Audit payroll records and resolve payroll discrepancies.
• Track fringe benefits, deductions, and prevailing wage requirements.
• Coordinate with project managers, accounting, and HR departments to ensure accurate payroll reporting.
• Respond to requests from government agencies, contractors, and auditors.
• Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation.
• Assist with payroll tax reporting and year-end payroll processes.

This position is responsible for processing certified payroll for public works and prevailing wage projects while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience working in the construction industry, and a thorough understanding of prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly certified payroll for multiple public works projects.
• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports in compliance with prevailing wage requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with DIR reporting and California public works projects.
• Knowledge of union payroll and collective bargaining agreements.
• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus.
• Experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
