Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Grand Rapids, MI to ensure accurate and timely payroll, support timesheet administration, processing, reporting, and compliance. You will collaborate with employees and the Organizational Effectiveness team to resolve discrepancies and maintain records.

The role requires 2–5 years of payroll experience, a relevant degree, and proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint or Paycor is a plus. Hybrid schedule available.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of payroll processing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of payroll regulations and Davis-Bacon Act provisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint and/or Paycor is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review employee timesheets weekly for accuracy and compliance.
• Approve timesheets and prepare export files for payroll processing.
• Finalize weekly payroll with accuracy and completeness.
• Verify time and attendance, bonuses, deductions, and other payroll transactions.
• Ensure compliance with Davis-Bacon Act on government projects.
• Generate payroll reports and provide insights into payroll expenses and trends.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
• Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
