Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage Canada payrolls for resort and corporate staff, partnering with HR, HRIS, Benefits and our 3rd party providers.

The role ensures timely, accurate payroll processing, time and attendance, deductions, and year-end reporting, with a focus on service excellence for employees across Canada and the US. Denver-based hybrid office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in multi-provincial payroll with taxes and garnishments.
• Canada payroll processing experience is required; USA experience is preferred.
• ROE expertise and experience.
• Experience with bi-weekly, hourly and salaried payrolls.
• Finance/Accounting knowledge and ability to use query/report tools.
• Workday experience is required; Time Tracking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level service and support to all Alterra employees on wages, taxes and deductions.
• Prepare employee records for payroll processing in Workday and ADP Taxes.
• Support Time and Attendance activity utilizing Workday Time Tracking.
• Enter and verify all deduction amounts included on pay runs.
• Process payroll reports to analyze payroll data for integrity.
• Handle Canada court orders including garnishments and tax levies.
