Job summary

Workday seeks an experienced Payroll Manager to lead a decentralized global team responsible for US/Canada in-house payroll processing and coordination with LATAM providers. You will ensure accurate, compliant payroll operations and mentor a cross-border group across Atlanta, Salt Lake City, and India.

The role emphasizes managing payroll regulatory filings, tax reconciliations, and collaboration with HR and Finance to drive process improvements and SOX controls.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a high growth or public company, with at least 2+ years in a team lead / manager function.
• 5+ years processing in-house payroll on an ERP.
• Proven experience directly managing a decentralized or global team.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR; relevant work experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Mentor direct reports and develop a shared vision across a decentralized global team.
• Oversee global payroll operations including US/Canada in-house processing; coordinate with 3rd party providers for LATAM.
• Stay up-to-date with labor laws and tax regulations across US, Canada, Mexico, and Costa Rica.
• Maintain confidential employee payroll data and ensure compliance with local authorities."
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to resolve payroll inquiries and issues.
