Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage complex salary schedules, calendars, and retroactive pay at the West Support Center. You will train staff and support HRIS and payroll systems with strong emphasis on confidentiality.

The role requires leadership in payroll processing, audits, and communications with stakeholders. This is a full-time, on-site position with comprehensive benefits and a 260-day schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with payroll, timekeeping systems and HRIS.
• Ability to handle confidential information and sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, problem solve, and respond to pay-related stakeholder inquiries via multiple channels.
• Audit employee paperwork for correct salary entries, rates of pay and leave accruals.
• Communicate payroll updates to district stakeholders through training, written/verbal/internet communique.
• Provide training for district employees and site managers on payroll functions, Kronos and Workday systems.
• Assist in maintenance and enhancements of Workday and payroll modules; test upgrades.
• Perform audits to ensure time/pay integrations and accuracy for on- and off-cycle runs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
