Job summary

Find Great People | FGP seeks a Temporary Payroll Specialist to support a large, multi-state payroll operation in Spartanburg, SC or Charlotte, NC. This is a full-time, 7-month assignment with hybrid work flexibility.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of payroll processing experience, ADP Workforce Now proficiency, and strong knowledge of federal/state payroll taxes. Excel skills are essential for data accuracy and reporting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
• Strong understanding of payroll taxation (federal/state).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Office tools.
• Experience supporting large multi-state organizations.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and timely for a large, multi-state employee population.
• Support payroll activities for a workforce of more than 1,700 employees.
• Review payroll data to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain payroll records and protect confidential employee information.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and tax-related issues.
• Partner closely with HR, benefits, and finance teams to ensure smooth payroll operations.
• Follow established payroll procedures and documentation while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
• Prioritize multiple deadlines and workloads in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist with payroll-related reporting, audits, and compliance activities.
• Contribute positively to a collaborative team culture and support departmental goals.

Job description

We are seeking a Temporary Payroll Specialist to support a team in Spartanburg, SC or Charlotte, NC This is a full time, temporary 7 month assignment. The ideal candidate will have experience with ADP Workforce now and 5+ years of multi state payroll experience.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll accurately and timely for a large, multi-state employee population
• Support payroll activities for a workforce of more than 1,700 employees
• Review payroll data to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Maintain payroll records and protect confidential employee information
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and tax-related issues
• Partner closely with HR, benefits, and finance teams to ensure smooth payroll operations
• Follow established payroll procedures and documentation while identifying opportunities for process improvement

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience
• Expereince with ADP Workforce now
• Strong understanding of payroll taxation, including federal and state requirements
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Multi-State Payroll Experience
• Background supporting large organizations with complex payroll structures.

Compensation & Additional Information:

• $30 to $40 per hour, depending on experience
• Hybrid work flexibility available
• Monday - Friday (8am to 5pm)
• 7 month Temporary Assignment
