Caring for Others is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing for employees in a fast-paced environment, coordinating timekeeping between EHR and HRIS and handling changes from hires to terminations.

The role requires accuracy, discretion with confidential data, and collaboration across systems to ensure timely payroll and compliant tax processing.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree and 2+ years of high-volume payroll experience.
  • Experience with Paylocity and multi-location/multi-state payroll preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, and organization under tight deadlines.
  • Solid understanding of payroll tax, deduction, and compliance requirements.
  • Committed to confidentiality and HIPAA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Process accurate, timely payroll for employees across alternating weekly cycles.
  • Reconcile timekeeping data between EHR and HRIS.
  • Process new hires, terminations, pay changes, and expense reimbursements.
  • Audit payroll pre- and post-processing to catch and resolve errors.
  • Review tax filings and garnishments for accuracy and compliance.
  • Reconcile monthly payroll accounts and support year-end W-2 processing.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Payroll Specialist manages payroll processing for employees in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, working a rotating weekly schedule. This role is responsible for accurate, timely payroll processing, timekeeping reconciliation, and managing employee changes from new hires through terminations — working extensively in an HRIS and an EHR, with caregiver timekeeping maintained in the EHR and synchronized to the HRIS for payroll. The ideal candidate is comfortable with frequent employee changes, tight deadlines, and large volumes of confidential data, with strong accuracy and problem-solving skills to catch and resolve discrepancies quickly.

  • Administrative experience in a related specialty such as accounting, customer service, scheduling, billing, IT, project management, sales, marketing, business development, staffing, recruiting, care coordination, compliance, office or business management, human resources, or operations
  • Background in senior care, assisted living, skilled nursing, or in-home care
