Job summary

Adams Brown, LLC is seeking a Payroll Specialist to perform routine payroll activities on-site at our Overland Park office. You will handle data entry, wage and overtime calculations, deductions, and payroll changes while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

The role supports client timekeeping records, processes changes, and ensures proper posting of pay and tax updates. Strong Excel skills and teamwork are essential for success in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree preferred; 0-3 years in payroll or equivalent.
  • FPC or other industry designation preferred.
  • Experience in iSolved software a plus.

  • Understands clients’ needs and is proactive in proposing solutions
  • Performs data entry, checks timekeeping records for accuracy on established timelines
  • Processes new hire, termination, and changes to client employees’ payroll records
  • Posts changes in pay and/or tax status
  • Maintains clients’ time and attendance records
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job description

Position Summary

The individual in this position performs routine payroll activities such as data entry, computing wage and overtime payments, calculating and recording payroll deductions, processing requests for payroll advances and processing records changes. The Payroll Specialist is familiar with standard payroll concepts, practices, and procedures. This role is on-site at our Overland Park office.

Requirements

Required Experience and Education

Associate Degree preferred, with 0-3 years in relevant position or equivalent combination of education and experience. Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or other industry designation preferred. Experience in isolved software a plus.


Major Duties and Responsibilities


  • Understands clients’ needs and is proactive in proposing solutions

  • Performs data entry, as well as checking of clients’ timekeeping records for accuracy and completeness on established timelines

  • Processes new hire, termination, and changes to client employees’ payroll records

  • Post changes in pay and/or tax status

  • Maintains clients’ time and attendance records

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Working Environment

Adams Brown, LLC promotes a flexible work environment with a deep commitment to technology. Our offices are open from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday through tax season and close at noon on Fridays outside of tax season. We are closed on major holidays, offer substantial paid-time-off, a comprehensive benefit package, competitive pay structure, and a culture of growth, clarity, and respect. This role is on-site at our Overland Park office.


Occasional overtime may be required. Travel to client's place of business and overnight travel for continuing professional education may be necessary.
