Job summary

DPR Construction in Nashville is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, handling sensitive data with confidentiality and compliance.

You will collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to resolve payroll inquiries, maintain records, and apply federal, state, and local regulations to mitigate risk. A 2–4 year background in payroll is required, with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; FPC/CPP preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in payroll processing, payroll administration, or a related field required.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Processes payroll transactions with wage calculations, deductions, and adjustments on schedule.
  • Verifies timekeeping records and supporting documentation for accuracy and policy compliance.
  • Responds to pay-related inquiries with clear, timely information.
  • Maintains up-to-date payroll records and documentation with privacy and retention in mind.
  • Reviews payroll reports to identify and resolve discrepancies before final submission.
  • Applies federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Assists in internal and external audits by preparing payroll documentation and responding to information requests.

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, a related field, or equivalent experience preferred

Job Summary:

Ensures accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, contributing to organizational trust and operational efficiency. Maintains confidentiality and compliance in handling sensitive payroll data, supporting a culture of integrity and accountability. Collaborates with team members and stakeholders to resolve payroll inquiries and discrepancies, fostering positive employee experiences. Applies knowledge of relevant regulations and company policies to minimize risk and support consistent payroll practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processes payroll transactions, including wage calculations, deductions, and adjustments, in accordance with established schedules.
  • Verifies timekeeping records and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.

Education Qualifications:

Work Experience:

2 - 4 years of experience in payroll processing, payroll administration, or a related field required.

Certifications and Licenses:

Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
