Job summary

Fit is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a reputable HVAC and plumbing company in Mobile, AL. This role ensures accurate, timely payroll processing, union compliance, service billing, and contract-related documentation in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key responsibilities include weekly/bi-weekly payroll using Sage 300 / Timberline, managing union reports and certified payroll, and handling billing for service work and job costing.

Qualifications

• Experience with Sage 300 / Timberline payroll module.
• Union payroll processing and certified payroll reporting background.
• Experience in construction/HVAC or plumbing industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll using Sage 300 / Timberline.
• Manage union employment reports, certified payroll, and union remittances.
• Handle billing for service work, including job costing, progress billing, and related entries.
• Oversee contracts, change orders, and lien waiver document management.
• Maintain accurate employee records, deductions, garnishments, and tax filings.
• Reconcile payroll reports and work with project managers on job cost allocation.
• Support HR functions as needed (onboarding, benefits administration, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and union regulations.

• Handle billing for service work, including job costing, progress billing, and related entries
