Job summary

Addison Group in McLean, VA seeks a Part-time Payroll Specialist for an on-site role (~3x/week). This contract position may convert to contract-to-hire.

You will handle semi-monthly payroll for 150-200+ employees, ensure timely payments, reconcile accounts, and support month-end close with strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Experience managing full-cycle payroll for 150-200+ employees with 3+ years of hands-on experience.
• Background in manual payroll environment, taking ownership of the payroll cycle from start to finish.
• Advanced Excel skills - including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll data for semi-monthly payroll cycles, ensuring timely and accurate employee payments while preparing payroll reports and payment requests.
• Reconcile payroll and benefit accounts, investigate discrepancies, and prepare related journal entries to support month-end and year-end close activities.
• Maintain payroll records, reports, and documentation in compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and applicable labor regulations.
• Provide payroll support to employees and external contacts by resolving inquiries and assisting with iPay statement resets.
• Verify monthly timesheets and bonus information within the Ptelea system and generate monthly Crosstab reports.
• Review and validate semi-annual performance bonus payments for accuracy before processing.
• Reconcile quarterly and annual payroll tax filings to ensure compliance with agency reporting requirements.
• Assist with audits for employee benefit plans, including 401(k) and Workers' Compensation programs.
• Update annual budget spreadsheets using industry salary survey data to support compensation planning.
• Maintain Performance Management raise tracking spreadsheets and other compensation-related records.
• Generate payroll and workforce reports to support various organizational initiatives and business projects.
• Update the company roster and recurring payroll reports on a semi-monthly schedule.
