Job summary

Urth Payroll Services, Inc. in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage full-cycle payroll for 500+ employees on a bi-weekly schedule. You will ensure multi-state compliance with federal, state, and local wage laws, handle tax filings, and produce essential payroll reports.

The role requires advanced ADP Workforce Now experience, strong Excel skills, and bilingual Spanish/English communication in a fast-paced environment supporting HR, Finance, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle payroll processing for 500+ employees bi-weekly.
• Process multi-state payroll while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
• Oversee payroll tax filings, reporting, reconciliations, quarter-end and year-end processing.
• Administer employee deductions, garnishments, benefits, wage assignments, and other payroll-related transactions.
• Review, audit, and process meal and rest period premium payments and labor compliance violations.
• Generate, analyze, and distribute payroll reports to Human Resources, Finance, and senior leadership.
• Partner closely with Human Resources to ensure accurate processing of new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, promotions, leaves of absence, benefits, and employee status changes.
• Ensure payroll records are maintained in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external payroll audits and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Serve as the primary payroll subject matter expert and point of contact for payroll-related inquiries.

• Extensive knowledge of multi-state payroll processing, payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and labor compliance requirements.
• Experience managing payroll deductions, garnishments, reconciliations, audits, and reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting.
• Advanced ADP Workforce Now Payroll experience required.
• Bilingual Spanish/English required, with strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience managing multi-location payroll in a hospitality, restaurant, retail, or multi-unit environment preferred.
