- Assist with analyzing and processing weekly and bi-weekly payrolls for multiple facilities
- Conduct payroll audits to ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and federal, state, and IRS regulations
- Research and resolve payroll issues related to taxes, withholdings, garnishments, and wage/hour regulations
- Ensure payroll reporting and payments are accurate and compliant
Operational Support
- Support HR and Payroll teams across multiple locations, including on-site coverage for HR/Payroll Managers and open payroll vacancies as needed
- Travel weekly to facilities throughout Massachusetts to support payroll operations (up to 40% travel)
- Submit mileage reimbursement for travel related to payroll coverage
Accounting & Reporting
- Partner with Accounting to support proper labor distribution and accurate recording of payroll-related expenses
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual audits including:
- Pension Audits
- Workers' Compensation Audits
- Employee Benefit Plan Audits
- Support ACA reporting, Payroll-Based Journal (PBJ) reporting, and other regulatory filings as required
Additional Duties
- Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred
Experience
- 1-2 years of progressive experience in payroll and/or human resources operations
- Prior experience in long-term care environments preferred
Technical Skills
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong working knowledge of Office 365
- Experience with timekeeping and payroll systems required
