Job summary

A data analytics and risk firm is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll preparation and processing for multiple countries. Qualifications

Skills

$50.00/hr - $64.00/hr

Our Client, a data analytics and risk firm, is looking for someone to join their team as a Payroll Specialist.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Support preparation, processing & reconciliation of payroll in the US, Costa Rica, and Canada, including off-cycle payments, special payments, commissions, bonuses, severance, & vacation pay.
  • Coordinate with benefits to ensure accurate deductions are taken every pay period and entering appropriate adjustments as needed.
  • Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests and maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Pay employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts.
  • Prepare final payroll summary reports for electronic distribution.
  • Support internal and external audits.
Qualifications
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Oracle HCM / Oracle Cloud Payroll, including payroll entry, validation, auditing, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, overtime rules, garnishments, and tax regulations.
  • Experience with time & attendance systems (Kronos, UKG, ADP, etc.) and how they integrate with payroll.
  • Ability to perform payroll reconciliations, troubleshoot discrepancies, and ensure accurate payroll runs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas) for audits, reports, and data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of payroll cycles, deductions, benefits integration, retro pay, and off‑cycle payments.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality handling sensitive employee data.
