Job summary

The Tom Wood Group in Indianapolis, Indiana seeks a Payroll Specialist to manage biweekly and supplemental payrolls for over 1,000 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.

You will administer garnishments, run ADP reporting, coordinate with Finance, HR, and store managers, and uphold confidentiality while providing superior service to employees.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll processing, preferably with ADP Workforce Now.
• Degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or equivalent.
• Ability to collaborate across Finance, Operations, IT, and HR.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; maintain confidentiality.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

• Process biweekly payroll & supplemental payrolls for 1,000+ employees
• Process payroll reporting after each transmittal
• Distribute biweekly and supplemental payroll reports for various store locations
• Coordinate time and attendance & approve time off weekly
• Administer garnishments and child support
• ADP reporting for executives and store managers
• Verify new hire information in ADP
• New hire reporting to states
• Handle termination paperwork and maintain terminated employee files
• Other payroll duties as assigned

Job description

The Tom Wood Group, in Indianapolis, Indiana is currently searching for a Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a deep understanding of payroll processes and regulations. They will excel at maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance, and providing exceptional support to employees.

Responsibilities:

• Process biweekly payroll & supplemental payrolls for more than 1,000 employees
• Process all payroll reporting after each transmittal
• Send out biweekly and supplemental payroll reports for various store locations
• Follow up with management teams on time & attendance functions as well as time off approvals on a weekly basis
• Administer garnishments and child support administration
• ADP reporting functions for Executive management, GM, Office Managers, and others
• Verification on new hire information in ADP system
• New hire reporting to applicable states
• Handle termination paperwork and maintain terminated employee files
• Other payroll duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous payroll experience - preferred experience with ADP Workforce Now.
• Associates/undergraduate degree in HR, Business, Accounting or equivalent work experience in payroll area.
• Ability to partner across organizations including Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, IT, Senior Managers, and Employees.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• A high level of confidentiality/discretion required.
• MUST have a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
