Job summary

The role serves as a primary payroll contact, with a typical schedule of in-office Monday–Wednesday and work-from-home Thursday–Friday, offering a hybrid work arrangement and opportunities to work with an international footprint.

Qualifications

  • Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with payroll software and Excel is required.
  • Certification in payroll processing is preferred.
  • College-level accounting coursework is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees.
  • Calculate wages, deductions, overtime, bonuses, and other compensation elements.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy across pay periods.
  • Process statutory deductions and contributions in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and respond to employee pay inquiries.
  • Support year-end payroll processes, tax filings, and audits.
  • Maintain compliance with wage and hour laws and company policy.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance on new hires, terminations, and status changes in payroll.
  • Process leave balances, PTO, and unpaid leave adjustments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll data.

Role Summary

We're looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to assist with accurate, timely payroll processing for our workforce. This role will handle payroll administration, ensure compliance with applicable tax and labor regulations, and serve as a key point of contact for payroll-related questions across the organization. Typical schedule is Monday-Wednesday in office, Thursday-Friday work from home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees, including hourly, salaried, and contract staff
  • Calculate wages, deductions, overtime, bonuses, and other compensation elements
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy across pay periods
  • Process statutory deductions and contributions (e.g., income tax withholding, social security/national insurance, health surcharge) in accordance with applicable jurisdictional requirements
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve employee pay inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Support year-end payroll processes, tax filings, and audits
  • Maintain compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and company policy
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure new hires, terminations, and status changes are reflected accurately in payroll
  • Process leave balances, PTO, and unpaid leave adjustments
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee data
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • College-level accounting coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
  • Certification in payroll processing,
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with sound decision making
  • Strong problem-solving
  • Knowledge of payroll software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
