We are currently seeking a qualified Payroll Specialist to join the team in a remote role, based in the EST or CST time zones. This role is responsible for payroll processing and providing support for audits, compliance, and reports.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Process payroll for hourly and salary employees, including calculating salary, deductions, bonuses, and benefits
• Maintain accurate payroll records, including attendance, leaves, and compensation changes
• Coordinate with HR, finance, and other departments to gather payroll data, such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary changes
• Review and verify payroll inputs, including timesheets, bonuses, commissions, taxes, and deductions, to ensure accuracy and compliance with local tax laws and regulations
• Verify tax and wage orders payments processed through third-party provider
• Audit the hours imported from time and attendance system and prepare adjustments for time adjustments for payroll processing
• Audit payroll inputs and complete variance audit for payroll approvals prior to payroll completion
• Address and resolve employee inquiries related to payroll and deductions issues professionally and promptly
• Generate payroll reports for management, audits, and statutory filings
• Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and implement necessary process changes
• Assist in payroll audits, compliance checks, reports, and system upgrades
• Maintain payroll records, documentation, and confidentiality of employee information in compliance with data protection laws and company policies

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in payroll processing, global payroll processing is a plus
• Proficient in payroll and HCM software and systems, Workday preferred
• Solid understanding of Federal and state payroll laws, tax laws, and compliance regulations
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work with large volumes of data accurately
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Strong Excel skills

Wage Range

The rate for this position is between $22.80 - $30.40 per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
