Job summary

Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania - Elizabethtown Campus is actively seeking a Payroll Specialist to prepare bi-weekly payrolls and related functions for all entities. You will ensure accurate deductions, direct deposits, taxes, and benefits in a timely manner.

Responsibilities include auditing data across Workday, UKG/Kronos, and WellSky, training staff, and supporting payroll system enhancements. A minimum of five years' payroll experience and strong regulatory knowledge are required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five years' payroll experience minimum.
  • FPC or CPP certification preferred.
  • Experience with electronic time and attendance required.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local tax regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis.
  • Strong communication, adaptability, and detail orientation.

  • Maintain payroll records and master files for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Execute payroll disbursements, tax deposits, and related payments.
  • Audit and reconcile data across Workday, UKG/Kronos, WellSky, HR systems.
  • Administer payroll adjustments, leave, benefits and special transactions.
  • Resolve payroll issues and respond to employee inquiries.
  • Prepare payroll reports, W-2s, and audit documentation.
  • Support system administration and upgrades for UKG/Kronos and Workday.
  • Train supervisors on payroll processes and timekeeping policies.

Payroll Specialist

Full Time | Days | On-Site

Pay: $23/hour - $31/hour (Based on experience)

Masonic Villages of Pennsylvania - Elizabethtown Campus - is immediately hiring for a Payroll Specialist.

As a Payroll Specialist, you will carry out our Mission of Love by preparing bi-weekly payroll and associated functions for all entities.

Our Payroll Specialist is responsible for the following:
  • Process and calculate payroll, including wages, taxes, benefits, garnishments, direct deposits, and other employee deductions in compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
  • Maintain and validate payroll records and system data, including new hires, terminations, deductions, direct deposit information, and payroll master files to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Execute payroll disbursements and related payments, including employee direct deposits, manual checks, tax deposits, garnishments, retirement contributions, and other payroll-related obligations.
  • Review, audit, reconcile, and validate payroll and timekeeping data from multiple systems (Workday, UKG/Kronos, WellSky, HR) to ensure accuracy, policy compliance, and proper accounting.
  • Administer payroll adjustments, leave and disability pay processes, benefit eligibility reviews, alternate pay rates, annual rate increases, and other specialized payroll transactions.
  • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve payroll issues, employee pay inquiries, wage verifications, and payroll policy questions for employees, managers, supervisors, and external agencies.
  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain payroll reports, W-2s, resident gift checks, audit documentation, tax reports, cost reports, and other payroll-related records and communications.
  • Support payroll system administration by testing, troubleshooting, and implementing upgrades, integrations, enhancements, and regulatory changes within UKG/Kronos and Workday.
  • Train supervisors, managers, and timekeepers on payroll processes, timekeeping systems, and company pay policies while supporting departmental meetings and initiatives.
  • Provide backup leadership for payroll operations, assist with tax reporting and reconciliations, participate in payroll-related continuing education, and support special projects as assigned.
What You Need as a Payroll Specialist:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum five years' experience.
  • FPC or CPP certification preferred.
  • Experience with electronic time and attendance required
  • Working knowledge of Federal, State and Local Tax Regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer operations. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite to include spreadsheet development and data analysis functionalities. Efficient management of digital files and databases. Experience with cloud-based collaborative tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, SharePoint) preferred.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, demonstrate a high degree of adaptability, and exhibit meticulous attention to detail. Have a collaborative mindset with strong teamwork capabilities, the ability to think critically, a commitment to professional growth as a curious and continuous learner, and the negotiation and persuasive skills necessary to influence key stakeholders and drive business outcomes.
  • Demonstrates strong time management skills by effectively prioritizing tasks, managing competing demands, and consistently meeting deadlines as assigned. Maintains accountability for deliverables, proactively communicates progress, and ensures timely completion of responsibilities in alignment with team and organizational goals
