Job summary

General Shale, the nation’s leading masonry materials manufacturer, is seeking a Payroll Specialist for our Augusta, GA location. You will process multi-state payrolls, adhere to tax laws, manage wage attachments, and maintain employee records while handling inquiries and producing reports.

Ideal candidates have experience with UKG/Kronos, strong MS Office skills, and a high level of confidentiality. This role requires analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related curriculum preferred but not required.
• Experience with UKG (formerly Ultimate Software and Kronos) preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Highly autonomous and self-motivated with sound judgement and initiative.
• Confidential financial information handling.
• Great communication and problem-solving skills.

• Processing various multi-state/province payrolls timely, efficiently, and accurately
• Demonstrating familiarity with, and correctly adhering to tax laws
• Monitoring and assisting with wage attachment/garnishment order specifications
• Maintaining a variety of payroll and employee records
• Responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or HR concerns
• Analyzing and preparing various reports
• Maintaining a high level of confidentiality

Preferred Skills and Experience:
