Warehouse Specialists, Inc. in Appleton, Wisconsin is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate, on-time payroll for 800+ team members in a fast-paced in-office environment.

You'll serve as the in-house expert for UKG payroll, manage timekeeping integration, set up wage assignments and garnishments, and collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations to keep payroll running smoothly. Strong organization and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in an accounting environment.
• Familiar with payroll requirements and time-sensitive work.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Import and manage timekeeping data into UKG payroll.
• Set up wage assignments and garnishments.
• Serve as in-house UKG payroll expert.
• Process direct deposits and pay cards.
• Troubleshoot payroll integrations, including 401K and HSA.
• Prepare payroll data for contracts.
• Coordinate earnings and deduction codes with HR.
• Support Home Office functions as needed.

As our Payroll Specialist, you’ll help ensure more than 800 team members are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with payroll requirements. This role is perfect for a detail-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values confidentiality, and enjoys partnering with Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to keep payroll running smoothly. This is an in-office position located in Appleton, Wisconsin.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Import / manage the integration of the timekeeping system into UKG payroll.
• Set up wage assignments and garnishments.
• Serve as the in-house expert for UKG payroll and related systems.
• Direct deposit and pay card administration.
• Troubleshoot any issues with payroll integrations, including 401K and HSA.
• Provide data / prepare payroll information for cost-plus contracts.
• Coordination with human resources in establishing and maintaining earnings and deduction codes.
• Potentially other support functions within the Home Office.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage time-sensitive tasks.
• Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
• Ability to communicate with employees, operational personnel, and third-party payment service.
• Solid computer skills, including working knowledge of spreadsheets and MS Office.
• Ability to work as part of a team toward shared objectives.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting environment.
• Familiar with payroll requirements and time-sensitive work.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to use hands and fingers for computer keyboarding and answering phone calls.
• Ability to communicate via the telephone using speaking and hearing skills.
