Smartlinx Solutions LLC. is seeking a Client Payroll Services Manager to lead BekTek’s client payroll, tax filings, and compliance.

This on-site role with potential for hybrid work is based in Hackensack, New Jersey, and requires hands-on payroll leadership to ensure accurate, timely processing and delivery of high-quality client service. You will partner with tax, HR, and operations teams, oversee W-2 work, state registrations, and multi-jurisdiction filings, and drive process improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
• Active CPA designation required.
• 5–7+ years of progressively responsible payroll, payroll tax, accounting, or related experience.
• Previous experience managing, supervising, or providing direction to a payroll or tax services team.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and filing requirements.
• Demonstrated experience supporting multi-state and multi-jurisdiction payroll operations.
• Experience working with payroll tax filings and W-2 preparation across jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll services team to ensure accurate payroll processing and client service.
• Oversee tax filings, state registrations, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide escalation support for complex payroll questions and issues.
• Collaborate with tax, HR, and operations teams to drive process improvements.
