Job summary

Top 30 Accountancy practice in the Norwich area is seeking an experienced Payroll Processor to join its expanding team. You will manage end-to-end payroll using Star, ensure compliance with PAYE, RTI and EPS, and deliver a premium service to clients.

You will work in a relaxed, professional environment with opportunities to develop payroll knowledge across a busy client base and to mentor Trainee Processors as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven skills and experience in computerised and manual client payroll processing.
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of PAYE.
• Competent knowledge of starters, leavers, RTI and EPS.

Responsibilities

• Undertake end-to-end payroll processing on Star for multiple clients.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain client relationships.
• Be first point of contact for clients and respond to queries.
• Keep up to date with payroll changes and develop new skills as needed.
• Manage own time effectively on assignments.
• Process Payroll End of Year Returns.
• Assist colleagues and Trainee Processors with day-to-day queries.
• Reconcile issues and support allocations across the team.

Job description

We are currently working with a top 30 Accountancy practice who are currently looking to recruit an experienced Payroll processor to join their expanding team who are based near Norwich, this role will offer you the opportunity to work for one of the best Accountancy practices in the country and gain large company experience.

Your duties will include but may not be limited to:

• Undertake a range of computerised and manual payroll processing assignments from start to finish on Star
• To provide excellent customer service, helping to develop and maintain client relationships and reinforce the premium payroll service we provide.
• To actively provide a first point of contact for clients
• To keep up to date and learn new skills as the client work demands
• Effectively manage own time on assignments
• Process Payroll End of Year Returns
• Assist with queries from clients and internally within the team, providing day to day support to Trainee Payroll Processors as and when required
• Reconcile and to resolving any issues with reference to both the client and to colleagues
• Assist with payroll processing from other team members allocations

To be considered for this role you will need:

• Proven skills and experience in computerised and manual client payroll processing
• Previous payroll software experience, preferably Star
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of PAYE
• Demonstrate a high standard of competence in processing basic payroll assignments.
• Demonstrate a competent knowledge of the following: starters, leavers, RTI and EPS
• Demonstrate a competent understanding of Star (and other payroll software) and the proven ability to develop that knowledge
