Job summary

Oyster is seeking a Payroll Operations Manager (Americas) to lead a distributed team across the region. You will own payroll operations, manage escalations, and partner with cross-functional teams to improve controls, customer experience, and service delivery.

A deep knowledge of US/Canada payroll and regional markets is required. This remote role supports the Americas with an automation-first approach and vendor-management excellence.

Qualifications

• Deep US and Canada payroll expertise, including multi-state/provincial compliance.
• Exposure to Mexico, Brazil, Colombia payroll operations is a plus.
• Strong equity-payroll knowledge and automation mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach payroll ICs across the Americas with clear goals and feedback.
• Act as the escalation point for complex US/Canada payroll matters and coordinate across regions.
• Own escalations, root-cause analysis, and durable corrective actions.
• Manage vendor outcomes, SLAs, and controls; drive process improvements.
• Build scalable payroll processes, documentation, and operating rhythms.
• Collaborate with Product, Finance, Legal and Lifecycle Operations to solve end-to-end problems.
• Drive automation and elimination of low-value manual work.
• Support Americas expansion while maintaining payroll accuracy and compliance.
