Job summary

Moody's Investors Service is seeking a Payroll Manager, Americas, to oversee accurate and compliant semi-monthly payroll for US and Canada. You will validate complex pay scenarios, manage tax registrations, and ensure benefits and equity deductions are correct, while driving process improvements and automation.

This role supports global payroll governance and works across HR, Finance, Tax, Legal, Benefits, and Technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end processing of semi-monthly payroll for US and Canada, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Process complex pay scenarios including retroactive adjustments, severance, garden leave.
• Validate payroll inputs/outputs before finalization in ADP and CloudPay, with pre- and post-payroll audits.
• Manage US tax registrations for new work locations; ensure timely setup.
• Maintain and reconcile state unemployment insurance, disability, paid family leave, and local taxes.
• Ensure proper taxation and administration of benefits, imputed income, and equity compensation.
• Investigate payroll discrepancies, perform audits, and resolve inquiries promptly.
• Identify automation opportunities and lead approved improvements with audit support.
