Job summary

The UCLA Faculty Practice Group is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead daily payroll operations, ensure accurate and timely processing, and uphold university policies and regulatory requirements. You will manage payroll systems, including UCPath, and partner with HR, Accounting and other departments to resolve issues and support reporting.

• Experience leading payroll operations and staff.
• Knowledge of UCPath and payroll regulations.
• Strong internal controls and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll processing activities for FPG payroll systems, including UCPath.
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll disbursements, including leave accruals, bonuses, and merit increases.
• Verify payroll transactions are accurate, complete, and properly recorded in the general ledger.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university payroll regulations and reporting requirements.
• Review payroll processes and implement improvements to support accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and audit readiness.
• Develop and maintain internal controls, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Supervise four Payroll Analyst staff, including work assignments, coaching, training, hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations.
• Partner with Human Resources, Accounting, managers, departments, and central payroll offices to communicate updates and resolve payroll issues.
• Participate in payroll-related projects and support payroll system and process changes.
