Nelson Marlborough Health is seeking a Payroll Officer for the Richmond HealthHub, based full-time on site. The role offers the chance to grow payroll skills across a large, integrated payroll operation serving thousands of employees.

  • Hours: 80 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday, 7.00 AM to 4.30 PM.

About the Role

If you already have Payrollskills, this is an opportunity to grow and extend those skills.Alternatively, if you have a strong administration background and arekeen to learn payroll, this is an opportunity to start in at ground level anddevelop your skills.

Our payroll team is responsiblefor end-to-end processing payroll for just over 3,000 Nelson Marlboroughemployees, geographically, spread from Murchison to Blenheim. We have a fully integrated roster-to-pay system to assist us with such a large andcomplex payroll service.

Our key focus is to provide aquality payroll service to our fellow colleagues. We strive forexcellence in everything we do and are always open to new ideas on how to improve our service.

This is a permanent role, working80 hours per fortnight (1 FTE), Monday to Friday, between the hours of 7.00AMto 4.30PM. The role isemployed under Nelson Hospital, however, will be based at the Richmond HealthHub.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team consists of 7 Payroll Officers and 6 Payroll Technicalstaff.

With nearly 3200 employees, we are Nelsonand Marlborough’s largest employer, which means the opportunities here areendless. Our main locations are Nelson and Wairau Hospitals, and the Richmondand Marlborough Health Hubs, but we are spread across the region and serviceall parts of the community. About you

We are looking for applicants who have:

Tosucceed in this role, you will have an interest in payroll and working withPayroll/HRIS applications.

Itwould be advantageous if you have knowledge of NZ Payroll related legislation,experience with roster-to-pay systems and experience with using AMS Software(LEADER, ACTOR, SQL). However, this is not essential as training will beprovided to the right candidate who has a strong administration background andis keen to develop their career in payroll.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in NewZealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.
