Greater Seacoast Health is looking for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist who takes pride in getting the details right, enjoys solving problems, and wants to play an important role in supporting employees across our organization.

If you are organized, analytical, dependable, comfortable working with payroll systems, and enjoy being the person people can count on for answers — this may be the role for you.

Why You’ll Want to Join Us

  • Competitive pay: $29.50-36.00/hour, based on experience
  • Work closely with Human Resources, Finance, managers, employees, and benefit vendors

  • Ensure accurate deductions for benefits, retirement contributions, flexible spending accounts, and other voluntary deductions
  • Process garnishments, tax levies, child support orders, wage assignments, and other required payroll deductions
  • Process final paychecks in accordance with applicable requirements
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Respond to employee payroll questions clearly and professionally
  • Maintain complete payroll records and supporting documentation
  • Support compliance with federal and state payroll laws, wage-and-hour requirements, payroll tax requirements, and organizational policies
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, W-2s, audits, and reporting
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc payroll reports
  • Work closely with Finance on payroll-related reconciliations
  • Support managers with timekeeping and payroll approvals

You’ll also work closely with the HR Manager to support employee benefits.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with new-hire benefit enrollments

  • Supporting employees with routine questions about:
    • Eligibility
    • Enrollment

  • Assisting with annual open enrollment
  • Tracking outstanding employee elections
  • Supporting benefit billing reconciliation
  • Auditing deductions and identifying discrepancies
  • Assisting with vendor communication and follow-up
  • Supporting benefit-related reporting and audits

If you enjoy working with systems and data, this is an important part of the role.

You’ll:

  • Maintain accurate payroll, employee, compensation, and benefit information
  • Work within ADP Workforce Now, Paycom, Employee Navigator, or comparable HRIS/payroll systems
  • Maintain assigned earnings codes, deduction codes, and payroll data fields
  • Identify and correct discrepancies
  • Assist with system testing and updates
  • Troubleshoot routine system issues
  • Help maintain data integrity across HR, payroll, and benefits systems
  • Create and maintain procedures, checklists, and payroll documentation
  • Recommend practical improvements that increase accuracy and efficiency
