Job summary

Exemplis is hiring a Mgr, Payroll - TEMP to lead bi-weekly payroll for a mixed workforce across states and a small Canadian group. This 6‑month onsite role (Tue–Thu in Cypress, CA) partners with HR and Finance to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will supervise the payroll team, optimize processes, and manage year-end activities while leveraging ADP Workforce Manager and ADP eTime, with a strong emphasis on California wage rules.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience with supervisory responsibility
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and wage-and-hour compliance
• Experience with ADP Workforce Manager and ADP eTime
• W-2 year-end processing experience and manufacturing payroll exposure

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt staff across multiple states
• Process Canada payroll for a small group of employees in compliance with Canadian regulations
• Administer timekeeping in ADP eTime including approvals workflow and pay rule configuration
• Supervise payroll team members and review work for accuracy
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws including CA requirements
• Coordinate with HR, Finance, and vendors; handle year-end processing and 401(k) updates
• Lead or support payroll/HRIS system integration projects and process improvements
