Job summary

Nextaff seeks a Payroll Manager to lead and optimize payroll processing across multiple entities in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires extensive hands-on payroll experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage audits, controls, and staff development. Eligible for a management bonus program and exempt from FLSA. Office-based position in Gulfport, MS with standard business hours.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on payroll experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, deductions, and earnings.
• Experience overseeing complex payroll operations and audits.

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll operations across multiple entities with accuracy.
• Prepare and review payroll reports including taxes, deductions, earnings, and leave.
• Oversee payroll data, PTO accruals, retirement-plan match, workers' comp, and bonuses.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and conduct payroll audits to correct discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and reporting requirements.
• Identify improvements to payroll systems, processes, and internal controls.
• Lead, train, and develop payroll staff and policies.
• Provide payroll reporting to Finance, HR, auditors, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate external audits and SOX compliance efforts.
